This was the Moon-Mars conjunction of January 3,2023. Mars was then about a month past opposition.$

The Moon appears quite pink and in a bright blue sky,as moonrise this night was a few minutes before sunset. However,the Sun was in clouds to the northwest and not lighting the foreground.
