Flanking M24 are the two large star clusters,M25 (below) and M23 (above),amid the trees. The globular cluster M22 is at bottom right, also just clearing the trees. The large diff
Mars, Venus and Jupiter (in that order from top to bottom) in a triangle, in conjunction, at an old farmstead near Vulcan, Alberta, in the morning twilight, October 28, 2015. Illumination is from the nearly Full Hunter’s Moon in the west. The trio of planets were in Leo in a fine conjunction not to be repeated until November 21, 2111. Almost all of Leo is visible here, with Regulus, the constellation’s brightest star, just to the right of the windmill blades at top.

The Coma Berenices star cluster, aka Melotte 111,in the constellation of Coma Berenices, here in a field of view wide enough (7.5° by 5°) to frame it with some of the surrounding galaxies,in particular the edge-on galaxy NGC 4565 at lower left and NGC 4559 at upper left. Several other fainter galaxies are in the field, some between 12th to 14th magnitude, such as the tiny quartet of Box Galaxies at the extreme upper right corner. Melotte 111 is one of the nearer star clusters, being only 288 light years away. The field is similar to that of binoculars.

This frames the rich region of the southern Milky Way in the small constellations of Norma (at centre) and Ara (at left and extending to the top). The bright Norma Starcloud is at bottom with the rich star cluster NGC 6067 ermbedded in it. The large red nebula at top is NGC 6188, aka RCW 108, that surrounds a loose star cluster NGC 6193. The nebula has become known as the Fighting Dragons of Ara, from its apperance in close-up images. To the right of the large nebula is the small double-lobed planetary nebula NGC 6164, though it is tiny at this image scale.
